The Deduplication App, also known as Dedup Manager, replaces Salesforce’s basic duplicate management with a complete toolkit for keeping data clean. It catches duplicates the moment a record is saved, scans whole objects in batch, and gives users a guided merge with field-level control, preview and undo.
What it adds
- Six matching methods, including fuzzy, phonetic and numeric-tolerance matching
- Batch scanning across whole objects, on demand or on a schedule
- A merge screen with field-level control, a preview of the result and undo
- A real-time check as records are created or edited
- A Duplicate Checker to test rules on real data before they go live
- A full audit trail with a 15-day undo window
- Weekly digest emails and Slack notifications
Objects covered
Leads, Accounts, Contacts and Opportunities, plus a Lead-to-Contact cross-object scan.
How it works
- Detect. Matching rules compare the fields you choose and score each pair. Pairs above your threshold join the review queue.
- Review. Work through duplicate groups with a confidence score, then merge or dismiss them.
- Merge. Pick the master record and the value to keep for each field, preview the result, then merge.
- Undo if needed. Reverse any merge within 15 days from Merge History.
Safe, guided merging
- Everything related to the losing records, including tasks, events, notes and custom child objects, moves to the winner.
- Records are snapshotted before any change, and the whole merge rolls back if any step fails.
- Merging closed opportunities shows a warning you must acknowledge, because it can affect revenue reporting.
Flexible matching and rules
Choose which fields are compared, how, and how much each one counts. Duplicate rules decide what happens on save: allow it, alert the user or block the save. Start new rules on alert-only and move to blocking once you trust them.
Dashboard and scans
The Dedup Intelligence dashboard shows pending duplicates, recent merges, active rules, your resolution rate and a data health score. Scan Runs shows every batch scan, how many records it covered and how many duplicates it found. Decisions you have already made are never overwritten.
Who it is for
Salesforce administrators, data stewards and sales operations teams. It is free and open source.
